Nonprofit Accounting Software
Nonprofit accounting is accountability accounting. Money arrives restricted to a purpose, and every unit spent has to be explained to a donor, a board or a regulator. DigitXBooks uses ledger categories to separate funds, keeps donor and grantor records with full transaction history, and exports the clean reports that grant conditions and annual filings require.

Fund tracking, donor records and transparent reporting
The central discipline is not spending restricted money on the wrong thing. Ledger accounts, ledger categories and ledger amount entries let each fund, grant or programme be tracked as its own category, with expenses recorded against the right one and category-level reporting to prove it.
- Ledger accounts and categories per fund, grant or programme
- Expenses recorded against the correct fund category
- Category-level reporting for grant conditions
- Complete transaction summaries for audit
Donors, grantors and what they gave
Donors and grant-making bodies need to be tracked as relationships with history, not just as receipts. Party records with full transaction history cover individual donors, institutional funders and member organisations, with receivable tracking for pledged-but-unreceived commitments.
- Donor and grantor records with transaction history
- Receivable tracking for pledged commitments
- Payment-in entries recorded against donor accounts
- Exportable donor and receipt reporting
Transparency by default
Boards, auditors and regulators all ask for the same thing in slightly different formats. PDF-ready reports across expenses, cash flow, ledger categories and payroll, plus role-based access for treasurers and auditors, make those requests routine rather than a project.
- PDF-ready expense, cash-flow and ledger reports
- Role and page-level access for treasurers, auditors and staff
- Payroll records for staff and stipend payments
- Six-language interface for internationally staffed organisations
FAQs
Can DigitXBooks handle restricted fund accounting?
Yes, through ledger accounts and ledger categories. Each fund, grant or programme is tracked as its own category with expenses recorded against it, and category-level reporting demonstrates that restricted money was spent as intended.
Does it track donors and grants?
Yes. Donors, institutional funders and member organisations are held as party records with full transaction history, and receivable tracking covers pledged commitments not yet received.
Can we give our auditor limited access?
Yes. Role-based access with page-level permissions lets an auditor or treasurer see ledgers and reports without access to payroll or donor contact detail.
Does it support organisations working in several languages?
Yes. English, Spanish, Arabic, French, German and Chinese are supported, including right-to-left layout for Arabic, with per-user language preferences for internationally staffed teams.
